An audition is a required and exciting part of the admissions process for the Lawrence Conservatory of Music. Learn more about the procedures, dates, and requirements below.

How to Apply

  1. Select Early Decision, Early Action 1, or Regular Decision as your application round. Early Action 2 is not available for Conservatory degrees.
  2. Complete all general application requirements.
    1. The required teacher recommendation must come from a private lesson teacher, general music teacher, or an ensemble director and should speak to your musical abilities. You may request additional letters from references that can speak to your academic abilities, if desired.
    2. You may submit an optional music résumé detailing your experience, achievements, or training. You may upload your music résumé with your application for admission or through your  after you have submitted your application.
  3. Register for and complete an audition.

Audition Procedures

You may choose to audition in-person or by self-recorded video on or by the dates associated with your application round. All options are considered equally. 

Audition registration is required regardless of audition mode (in-person or video). Access to register will be provided after you apply to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

An audition is required for:

  • Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.)
  • Bachelor of Musical Arts (B.M.A.)
  • Dual Degree (B.A./B.Mus.)

An audition is not required for:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Music (B.A.)

Audition repertoire requirements vary by degree and instrument. Composition applicants must also submit a portfolio.
