Rebecca (Becky) Frank, an accomplished library sciences professional, has been named the new director of 麻豆视频鈥檚 Seeley G. Mudd Library. She begins her duties June 2, overseeing a library that is often viewed as the heart of the campus.

Frank comes to Lawrence from Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee, where she has served as director of library services and learning resources since 2020. She previously worked for nine years as a library administrator at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.

Frank called it an honor to join Lawrence鈥檚 talented team in the Mudd Library.

鈥淚 was drawn to this position by the university's strong sense of community and its deep commitment to student-centered learning,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檓 excited to build on the library鈥檚 strong foundation and to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to help it continue to grow as a vibrant hub of learning, exploration, and connection.鈥

Frank holds a Master of Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Library and Information Studies from Dominican University, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in secondary education from Judson University.

Peter Blitstein, provost and dean of faculty, said Frank is positioned to move the library forward.

鈥淏ecky impressed us with her thoughtfulness, her leadership philosophy, and her understanding of library trends and values,鈥 he said. 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted to welcome her to Lawrence.鈥

Blitstein also thanked Gretchen Revie, associate director of the library, for serving as acting director of the Mudd for the past three years. 

鈥淗er steady, experienced leadership has been critical,鈥 Blitstein said.
